There are very few things more sensual than rain. The feeling of rain falling on your skin is one that is very unique and even a shower can’t duplicate the sensation. Hey if rain weren’t so damn hot there wouldn’t be so many people wanting to have sex in it, and there certainly wouldn’t be so many damn songs about the wonderfully wet substance.
Damn near every major artist has some song referencing rain, from Milli Vanilli to the artist formerly known as Prince.
Since obviously whoever came up with the song “It never rains in Southern California” has never been here cuz it’s raining I thought it would be a great time to bring you the Publisher’s pick of the top then songs in Video form having to do with rain! I hope you Enjoy! Check them out right after the jump!

Milli Vanilli became one of the most popular pop acts in the late 1980s and early 1990s. 8. Oran Juice Jones – The Rain – 1987
In 1986 Oran Juice Jones busted his girlfriend and her lover walking in the rain. The rap about how he handled it was pretty hilarious. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1981.He was the second African-American Brigade Commander in Naval Academy history. 6. Madonna – Rain 1993
The first time I’d ever heard this song I was surprised that Madonna had once again changed up her style which is precisely why she is the icon she is and still has a career. Madonna has sold more than 300 million records worldwide and is recognized as the world’s top-selling female recording artist of all time by the Guinness World Records. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), she is the best-selling female rock artist of the 20th century and the second top-selling female artist in the United States, behind Barbra Streisand, with 64 million certified albums. In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked Madonna at number two, behind only The Beatles, on the Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists, making her the most successful solo artist in the history of the Billboard chart.
5. Guns n Roses – November Rain 1992
The Rock n Roll bad boys headlined by Axel Rose brought this epic rock ballad to the table in 1992 as part of a three part video. This was the culmination of the post drug and alcohol stage in these rocker’s lives. Who says you can’t make great music while clean. Ironically this was the last commercially viable album the group made!
This video also marks the last of the Supermodel days and features the ridiculously gorgeous Stephanie Seymore who incidentally looked incredible naked in front of my camera, but that’s a whole different story. Enjoy our #5!
4. Keith Sweat – In The Rain 1987
On November 25, 1987, Sweat released his debut solo album Make It Last Forever, which sold three million copies. The biggest hit from this album was “I Want Her” (#1 R&B/#5 Pop), which was nominated for the 1989 Soul Train Best R&B/Urban Contemporary Song of the Year award, while the title track from the album hit #2 on the R&B charts.
This track takes me back to one of the first weddings I had ever gone to where I first met the extremely sexy Sarah Nash who introduced me to The Cure… WHEW! But anyway our number four is certainly a hot track.

I mean really… who could forget this most emotional scene in the film Purple Rain where we finally feel the angst our star is going through. If you haven’t seen it you’re missing out on the BEST music / album Prince EVER did! So get your ass on Netflix and check it out!
2. New Edition – Can You Stand The Rain 1988
“Can You Stand the Rain” is a ballad by R&B/Pop group New Edition (). Released in 1988, it is the third single from their fifth studio album, Heart Break. With its soothing adult contemporary production stylings serviced by Jam/Lewis, the booming introduction of Johnny Gill and familiarity of Ralph Tresvant sharing lead vocals, the song became not only the defining moment for the Heart Break album€”but effectively transformed New Edition€™s image from that of a €˜teen pop€™ act to a grown up vocal ensemble as the decade drew to a close.
1. Herb Alpert Ft. Lisa Kieth with Janet Jackson – Making Love In The Rain 1987
Oh yeah! I dare you to find a more sexy song involving rain. You can’t! This song is one extremely sultry and sexy track. But then again it features Janet Jackson who was still hot off of her control album. For me, this song reminds me of my Chupi-Boo! And she knows why! When I text her lyrics from this track it still gets her going! HA HA HA
“Making Love in the Rain” is the third single by Herb Alpert from his Keep Your Eye on Me album. It features vocals from Lisa Keith (lead) and Janet Jackson (back up).
“Making Love in the Rain” was a big success on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks reaching number seven, and did moderately well on the Billboard Hot 100 peaking at number 35.
