A new AMG high-performance automobile is all set for its world premiere in the fall of 2014. The Mercedes-AMG GT will thrill sports car fans around the world with breathtaking design and supreme agility.
Year-round sunny weather and consistent, predictable waves, such as in California or Hawaii, is commonly thought of as the prime locale for professional surfers. But for those that call New York their home, half of the year is spent paddling out amidst snow, the other half battling summer flat spells. For someone who relies on specific ocean conditions for their career, New York is definitely not the easiest pick.
Splitting his time between Brooklyn and Montauk, pro surfer and filmmaker Mikey DeTemple uses New York to his advantage. It makes sense for him: the mix of city and ocean fuels the creativity behind his dual careers in surfing, which often overlap. Combining his athletic prowess and strong eye for style, Mikey’s been able to harness his talents. That, and he doesn’t mind surfing in cold weather – he actually likes it.

We now have more details of the stunning 2014 SLS AMG Black Series Coupe from Mercedes-Benz that debuted at the L.A. Auto Show in 2012. Available in showrooms in August, the SLS is the most powerful AMG high-performance automobile with a combustion engine and will have a suggested retail price of $275,000.
With a 6.3 liter V8 engine that generates 622 bhp and a curb weight of just 3,616 pounds, the SLS AMG coupe boasts one of the highest power to weight ratios in the category. This awesome power is delivered through an electronically-controlled AMG rear-axle differential lock and the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission that uses dual clutch technology to deliver lightning-quick shift and response times. Mercedez-Benz once again reminds us that staying in your lane isn’t always the quickest way to innovation and finds their own lane once more with the production of accessories for their cars. The auto brand chose to stay away from adding something that could be seen as garish and keep it decidedly simple. The Illuminated Star is none other than just that, a simple LED-infused Mercedes-Benz logo that illuminates the radiator grille of the vehicle. The star can currently be outfitted on the GL-Class MY13+, M-Class MY12+, E-Class MY14+ or CLS MY06+ models, but the carmaker hopes to extend availability to other models in the near future.
